Connect the original roof and later additions
If your home has an addition, attached garage or porch, identify each part of the roof when requesting an assessment. Explain which sections you want replaced and which would remain. A proposal for the main roof alone may leave junctions or a lower roof outside its scope.
Ask the assessor to describe how the proposed work meets the retained covering, adjoining walls and gutters. Note any history of leaks at these connections. Photos taken safely from the ground are useful for explaining the layout; do not climb onto the roof to collect them.
Separate observed conditions from allowances
Tell FALX what you know about the existing covering, previous replacements and repairs. Ask which conditions can be assessed now and which can only be confirmed after removal. Keep deck repairs, ventilation changes and any additional removal costs visible in the written proposal.
For an older or altered property, check whether the proposed exterior work needs municipal advice or other approvals. Start with the Town of Aurora and describe the actual property and work. This page does not determine permit or heritage requirements for your address.
Choose a profile that fits the proposed assembly
Compare the standing seam and metal shingle overviews, then ask to see the exact product and colour offered for your roof. Appearance is one part of the decision; roof slope, junctions and the selected system’s instructions also matter.
Use the cost planning guide to organize questions about measured roof area, removal, accessories and taxes. Its hypothetical scenarios are planning examples, not a quote for an Aurora home.
Arrange an assessment from the Mississauga office
FALX serves Aurora within its confirmed GTA service area. The visitor-capable office is at 2585 Drew Road, Unit 10, Mississauga, ON L4T 1G1. This is the company’s Mississauga office; this page does not describe an Aurora branch. Contact FALX before travelling to arrange a visit.
For your first conversation, share the Aurora property address, the roof sections involved and any known water entry. Ask for a proposed assessment time and a written scope before treating a start date or price as confirmed.
